The Effects of College Students` Self-efficacy on Their Health Promotion Behavior

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between college students¡¯ health promotion behaviors and self-efficacy, and to provide data for developing health promotion program for college student. The subject of this study were 720 college students who were attending 4-year universities in Seoul, and data were collected using a self-administered questionnaire for 17 days from the 13th to the 30th of April 2004. Major conclusions were as follows: As for the effects of self-efficacy on health promotion behavior by area, exercise efficacy appeared to have a significant effect on self-realization and interpersonal relations, exercise and stress management, hygienic life, rest and sleep and diet control and healthy diet, and psychological efficacy on self-realization and interpersonal relations, exercise and stress management and rest and sleep, nutritional efficacy on exercise and stress management. hygienic life, rest and sleep, diet control and healthy diet and responsibility for health, and health management efficacy on self-realization and interpersonal relations, hygienic life and responsibility for health.
